Yes that is right,, "Hal Anta 9aayem/9aa2em هل أنتَ صايم\صائم" is used in talking to male, while "Hal ante 9aayemah/9aa2emah هل أنتِ صايمة\صائمة" is used in talking to female.

Ramadan Mubarak. How do you say "just in case" in Arabic. Shukran li musaa'adatak.
-
You mean like saying "in case you are going to the shop, buy me that", then "in case" would be "fee 7aal في حال", however, this is not the common way to say it, in Arabic, we simply use "if",, like "if you are going to the shop then buy me that..." which would be "id'a d'ahbta ila addukaan fashtari lee ... إذا ذهبت الى الدكان فاشترِ لي..."
So use either "fee 7aal في حال" or "id'a إذا" and people would understand you :) -
I meant for example,"I'm bringing an extra bottle of water just in case". Would you still use fee 7aal in this instance?
-
it's interesting "shukran" . it is very
useful lesson for the month of "ramadan" -
No ramina, in your example (just in case) means (i7teya6an إحتياطاً), so the whole sentence would be (سأحضر قارورة ماء اضافيّة أحتياطاً).

Beginner - Fasting

As we enter the month of Ramadan we thought it would be appropriate to bring you a lesson on fasting. We teach you how to politely refuse a kind offer for a drink and explain the reason being that you're fasting. Even if you're not fasting, there is plenty of useful vocabulary to suit all.

How do you ask a person "are you fasting"? Is it "Hal anta 9aayem?"
Ramadan Mubarak.
