عشان does not come from a specific dialect. It's widely used throughout the Arab world/in most dialects. Try doing a search for this word as a test and see how many results you get.
It is indeed similar to ل e.g.
So he eats
عشان يأكل
ليأكل
Either can be used in any situation. Another example,
He went home to study
ذهب إلى البيت عشان يدرس
ذهب إلى البيت ليدرس
Regarding حجرب well spotted! This actually means going to try, it was translated incorrectly to "to think about it". The transcripts have been updated with the correct translation

From which dialect does عشان come from?
Is it similar to ل
as in it means "for" or "in order to"? Could we say that it is interchangeable?
حجر ب....
this means "to try"? or attempt? In the Audio Transcript it's translated as "to think about it". Just wondering the best translation.
