ayisha.a saysFri 31st Oct 08@08:21 pmAnother useful lesson. Thanks. How do you say 'would'. For example, why would a person want that?
-
very practical again guys - keep up the pace - very usefull
suggestion : for new words(nouns) could you give also the plural - would be very helpfull -مع السلام -
Thanks plop, we’ll try to give plural forms of new words in the future
Ayisha there isn’t an identical word in Arabic to would. To say “Why would a person want that?” in Arabic you could simply say
لماذا يريد الشخص ذلك؟
Lemaad’a yureed alsha7’9 d’aalek? -

Asalamuwa alaykum. I agree with everyone and say that this site is excellent mashaa-Allaah.
However, as I wish to learn arabic in order to better understand The Noble Qur'an, it would be great if it was pointed out where modern words are used in place of classic words in your pods. This way, you can teach modern everyday chat but are also warning us which words or terms are not fus-ha / classical. I hope that makes sense. At this stage I didnt want to pick up habbits of using modern dialect. Thank you, barakallaahu feek.

Curiosity is part of human nature so you can't blame people for being a bit nosy sometimes! But that doesn't mean to say you have to let people know all your business, pluck up a little courage and be blunt (sometimes you have to) and tell that nosy parker to mind their own business!
