-

-
Rayhanah,
It's written شكراُ and not شكرن
عفواً anyways ;-) -
Great lesson! A little difficult for me. It would help if at some point you left time for a learner to repeat individual words and parts of longer sentences. Thanks.
-
Another great lesson: thank you.
-
a general question....
the word "where", what is the common arabic word for this?
I have seen ayna, wayn and fayn....what is commonly used by people on the street? -
Well, Ayna is the Modern Standard Arabic, so you read it int he news but you don't hear it that often in the street.
In the street either wayn or fayn is used, can't call any of them to be the most common, both are really widely used, and whatever you use people know what you mean.
-
tanks ehab for reply...
the word for 'where' had me confused.
I now realize that MSA arabic is not always used for conversation, so its good that you guys teach us words that the people on the street will be using.
shukran -
شكر it's really usefull to me. I like it.
Thank you very much. -
I'm having a problem with accessing the PDF file. It says that it's unable to access it. I plan to subscribe, and don't want to have this problem if I pay for a subscription. I have adobe...I can't acess it from home or work. What do I need to do?

Hey guys, another great lesson. شكراًًٌٌَُُُُّ. Two questions: First, how do you get tanween to show up in your typing? I can't seem to get mine to work.
Second, what is the present tense form of "إنتهت?" would it be "تانته?" Or "تنته?"
Keep up the great work! -
The tanweens are:
Fath (double fat-ha) ً is Shift+w
Damm (double dammah) ٌ is Shift+r
Kasr (double kasrah) ٍ is Shift+s
The present tense from (إنتهت) is (تنته).
Hope that was clear. -
That was perfect, شكراً

I was just wondering why in the following clip Shaykh Hamza Yusuf translates 'mind your own business' as what sounds like 'akbir ala sha'nik', whereas in your podcast you have it as 'laysa min shaglik'?

Today's lesson we teach you how to tackle those nosy questions in a no-nonsense manner; we teach you the commonly used phrase "It's none of your business!" in Arabic. It may be blunt, but sometimes you may find people intruding too much into your personal affairs leaving you with nothing else to say!
