chazyouwin saysFri 10th Dec 10@09:17 pmGreat to end the week with a new AP lesson like this one. Nicely done. I have especially enjoyed the listing of words and their meanings, which you've done in a few lessons now. Helps with new vocab and reinforces prior learning. Charles

Salam, thanks again for the posting. I would like to ask whether there is a difference between the word "a9-9udfa" / الصدفة and at-tawaafuq / التوافق
I was told the latter means coincidence too.

Thanks, Charles! That's exactly why we decided to list the extra vocabulary, so I'm very glad to hear that it's helpful.
And, yes, ulfahnuryn, الصدفة is definitely not the only word for coincidence. التوافق is one of the others. Thanks for asking. -
Hi, I'm in Chester. I speak fluent colloquial Arabic which I learnt years ago as a bride in Melbourne. I find formal Arabic a bit unnatural. The only times I've heard it is in speeches or on TV or radio. If there's an age competition, I'm pushing eighty, too.

To Ihab and Mohammed: thank you so much for arabicpod- it is the best site to learn arabic.
It helps me a lot and you are doing it in a perfect and funny way. "Mubarak" :-D
Hope you never stop (until I'm fluent in arabic).

Life is full of coincidences, and often a coincidence is good. Some people even fall in love as a direct result of a coincidence. Whatever brought you to learn Arabic, whether it's coincidence or fate, listen to Sierra & Elias on how to discuss coincidences in Arabic.
