lukeandrews saysWed 9th Mar 11@11:03 pmIn the second line, why is it enaha instead of hiya? Thanks.

Reminds me of a Borat movie... You should've had another similar dialog where the guy asks
"من هذه إمرأة جميلة اللتي تقف هناك؟"
And "... هي زوجتي"
Question: ماذا الفرق بين غَلطَة و خطأ؟

lukeandrews ... let me try to answer. I think "heya" would have worked, but just doesn't sound very elegant in Arabic.
"Inna" takes attached pronouns ... "hu" for male things and "ha" for female, and in my mind I translate this as "Indeed he is ..." or "Indeed she is ..."
So I translate this as "indeed she's my wife" which sounds pompous in English, but doesn't in Arabic.

Good job Maasbar, I couldn't have explained it any better.
Jenkki, غلطة and خطأ can be used interchangeably sometimes but mistake is the closest translation to غلطة and error is the closest translation to خطأ.

Alhamdulillah, this is a great site for learning Arabic!

I started (mid-2015) with the very earliest beginner lessons...and am now up to your 2011 beginner lessons. My aspiration is to get up-to-date!
I feel I have progressssed a great deal from using Arabicpod. (I can now read almost all of the comments your users leave in Arabic.)شكراً
By the way, we are going to Europe soon (from New Zealand) and hope to get to Jordan. If so, that will be my first time in an Arabic-speaking country.

We all make mistakes, but some of us have to live with those mistakes for the rest of our lives! We have an embarrassing situation occurring in today's dialogue; what would normally end with a disagreement and an argument, this time actually ends with an agreement!
