Regarding the PDF error you are getting. I did a search for the error and it seems like it occurs because you are missing that font. You can either do a search for that font and download it, or maybe you could just click ok on the message and view the PDF afterwards without any problems. If both of these methods don't work then just download the file to your computer then view it,this should solve the problem.

Both means Weather, but, Aljaw is much more for indoor description while al6aqs for outdoor,, there is no harm at all if you use any of them.

Thanks for the question. If you know the Arabic Alphabet, you'll find the word NASHRAH is written with ة in the end, we call it TA Marbo6a. This Ta marbo6a comes only in the end of the word, and it is pronounced like this: if there is nothing following the word, such as the word being in the end of a sentence or it is just a single word,, then do not pronounce the Ta marbo6a. In the other hand, if the word is followed by another word , then pronounce the letter T, such as Al-Nashrata Al-Jaweya.

I just found out that ma6ar is also the word for airport. As a non arabic speaker, I'd like to know how you pronounce the word to distinguish between rain and airport. Shukran.

Airport is مطار (ma6aar). It has an ا (alif)after the ط
(6a) so you elongate it. Notice my use of double 'a'.
Rain on the other hand is مطر (ma6ar). All of the vowels on this word are short vowels.
It becomes easier once you learn to read Arabic, because using English to write the Arabic words can sometimes be confusuing because there is no standard way of doing it.

Could you discuss briefly the "2" at the end of sheta2.

Number 2 in the word (shta2) is the (hamza- ء) letter in Arabic, as there is no equivalent in English, we use number 2 to replace it.
Notice that the letter (alef- ا) is different from letter (hamza- ء). (alef) makes a sound similar to (a) in (cat), while (hamza) sounds like the the letter (a) in (astronomy).

ء #hamza# is a special sign whose main function is to act as a consonant though it is not regarded as a letter of the alphabet. There are 2 kinds of #hamza#: cutting&joining. The cutting hamza acts in every way as a consonant, taking the short vowels or a sukoon but it never changes shape or connects to any other letter and it is pronounced as a glottal stop.

hi ehab and muhammad...had a small confusion in this one.you said thaks means weather and annashrathan jaweeya means weather forecast were al jawweeya means weather..so what exactly is the difference between the two...

hey tijo, both words mean the same thing, but I think when talking about weather forecasts, jawweeya is used. And jawweeya is functioning as an adjective I believe.

الجو= al jaw = the weather

الطقس= al taqs = the weather

As far as I remember, Ehab answered these questions a long time ago. First, "Jawiia" (ﺠﻮﻴﺔ) is a feminine adjective. Second, "taqs" (ﻄﻗﺱ) and "jaw" (ﺠﻮ) are interchangeable when they mean "weather". Third, "jaw" can also mean "atmosphere". Both meanings of "jaw" are given in a book entitled "Beginner's Iraqi Arabic" (p. 241). The authors are Nawal Nasrallah and Nadia Hassani.
