Overall nice lesson, I could really use this..So the word tatasili the li part is part of the word and doesnt have anything to do with possession in this case right?
Also do verbs always start with ta even if talking to a man?

There are two methods to form the negative of the past tense in Arabic -

Maa followed by the past tense verb
Or
Lam followed by jussive mood of the verb

The first sentence of this lesson uses the second method. The jussive mood is a variation of the standard PRESENT tense verb. Knowledge about the subtle differences between the standard present tense verb and the jussive mood is useful in understanding the language better.

For example, if you take the verb اتّصل – itta9ala

Standard present tense - You feminine singular is تتّصلين – tatta9ileena

Jussive – You feminine singular is تتّصلي – tatta9ilee

The following three sentences are used when you are talking to a female.

لماذا لا تتّصلتن عليّ
Why you do not call me? – Negative of the Present tense

لماذا ما اتّصلتِ عليّ
Why you did not call me? – Negative of the Past tense using the past tense verb

لماذا لم تتّصلي عليّ
Why you did not call me? Why you have not called me? – Negative of the Past tense using the jussive mood

@jamalbinti14, The letter ي at the end of the verb تتصلي is there because the person was talking to a female. If he was talking to a male, he would have said تتصل . Really it should have been تتصلين but because the verb was preceded by لم then the letter ن got omitted. Hopefully the following examples will make things clearer.

Present tense verb meaning 'You eat' talking to a male:
تأكل

Talking to a female:
تأكلين

'You haven't eaten' talking to a female:
لم تأكلي

The prefix ت at the beginning of the verb indicates the person is talking 'to' someone as in 'you', and the suffix at end of the word indicates the gender.

In arabic we read it like
li.maza laa tata.sa'leen ala.

I think people here should be learning words like ليش،شو instead of لماذا،ما because nobody uses them anymore

no if you are talking in official places, you will absolutely find peaple using lemaza and ma rather than lesh or shoo

awesome lesson does the language change in different parts of arab countries ? for example according to your lesson Limada = why ,but i heard often in saudi people say LAAY for why

@thalal , yes there are different dialects in the Arab world, however Classical Arabic is just one, and all Arabs understand it, that is why it is used in the news and the media in general.
