Why do you say "'azIIma" instead of "'azUUma"? In the lesson entitled "Invitation" you say "'azUUma".

Well spotted Desmond, Basically both words are used frequently in colloquial to mean "invitation". The proper word is

عزومة
3azoomah
Invitation

But, the following is also used frequently in colloquial for the same meaning

عزيمة
3azeemah

Searching both words in Google images will show results of inviting food. Also, notice with the latter, the word can also mean "determination" or "backbone" e.g.

ليس لدي عزيمة

I don't have a backbone, my confidence is low etc.

This is a terrific lesson both in terms of the language and for the sophisticated view on culture. My flight companion, a music person, was astonished when I answered his question about what I was hearing on the IPod: "An analysis of rap music from the gulf dialect. The theme is money and how it affects the singer's status in life." Impressive!
