“to try” has different meanings.
To try to + verb
“to make an effort to do or accomplish something, to attempt” – use حاوِل
To try out + noun
“to taste, sample, experience, experiment, or test in order to determine strength, effect, worth, or desirability” – use جرِّب

There's a mistake in the English version of the last line of the PDF. It should say "except for" instead of "expect for."

There are crisps in many flavours out there, and the chances that you have tried every one of them are slim. The guy in today's dialogue decides to try a new one, but he's in for quite a surprise! For some of us cannot handle certain flavours.
