Also why did you say أعرف إثنتان
Shouldnt it be أعرف إثنتين
Thanks -
Can I say "soor" for any type of wall? For example: the walls in my house?
-
@qwertyfshag, when the word (soor) is used, what comes in mind is the standing alone wall, like a fence, so the walls of a house can not be called (soor). You simply can say (7aa2i6 حائط) for a wall in the house.

@micairo
Maybe it has something to do with Giza being a feminine word. Not sure though -
Back to Mlcairo and Shezan33.
@mlcairo, to say (pyramids) in Arabic you can use (ahraam) and (ahraamaat). The word (ahraam) on its own is plural, but it is very common to use the form (ahraamaat) which is used as (taktheer) to emphasise the word as being plural. So using both forms for (pyramids) is correct.
@shezan33, you are right, that was a mistake and we've corrected it. -
What about the word "jidar" for wall?
-
@dcundy, if we try to summarise the difference between (jidaar), (7aa2i6) and (soor).
First (7aa2i6) means (wall) and it normally indicates to the wall of a house/room/building.
The word (soor) is used for the fence of a garden or any wall that does not have a ceiling. Now (jidaar) is the generic word for any bricks that are built to make a wall, so you could call the soor (jidaar) and also you could call the 7aa2i6 (jidaar) as well. -
Thanks, Ehab.

Is المخلّصtranslated literally as "redeemer"? Using Google translate generates "savior," which is very similar, but based on the root I would have guest something like "the finished." So, Christ the finished as the literal translated (obviously not the interpretative translation).
