I'm hoping to go to Jordan next year...

I am always intrigued by the fact Arabic has so many statement/response pairs: fascinating.

Are ان شاء اللة and باذن اللة interchangeable, or are they used in different contexts?

@climacus, Indeed Arabic fascinating with regards to the cultural expressive phrases. There is usually something that people say in almost every situation.

Yes ان شاء الله and بإذن الله can be used interchangeably, but the first one is more frequently used.

If they have arrived at their destination already, then you can say

الحمدلله على السلامة
Al7amdulelah 3alaa assalaamah
Thank god for your safe journey etc

If they are about to travel, or are in the process of travelling, then you can say

توصل بالسلامة
Arrive safely

@Kurumi, Yes الله يسلمك is a counter reply to that, and you can also use to as a counter reply to توصل بالسلامة.

The following phrase is a supplementary one which people sometimes use when the traveller is expected to return

ترجع لنا بالسلامة
Return to us safely
