Lower Intermediate - Full of clouds

Another great lesson! I never actually have paid attention to whether nouns are masculine or feminine in Arabic unless they end in tamar bu ta...it doesn't seem to be a big issue for regular conversation as it is in French or Spanish....For Ehab or Mohd, isn't there a grammar rule that if the noun is a thing rather than a person, you use the masculine conjugation هو rather than هي? For example, القطة يمشي instead of القطة تمشي? Or am I completely wrong? Sorry if I am!

For singular nouns, you use (huwa هو) with masculine nouns and (hiya هي) for feminine ones regardless to being person or a thing.
So you should say (the cat walks القطة تمشي) - (the dog walks الكلب يمشي) and (it is my aunt's book هو كتاب عمتي).
Hope that clarifies it.
