chazyouwin saysFri 3rd Jan 14@09:41 pmNice lesson. Try as I might I cannot distinguish the "r" sound at the end of "asta3eer" from an "l" sound. Most of the time I hear an "l" so that it sounds like "asta3eel." Is this just me or is this a feature of a particular dialect?

The next obvious question for me is the word to lend!
-
@chazyouwin, (asta3eel) is not a word in Arabic so whenever u hear it just assume it is (asta3eer) :)
-
@tomest05, the word for (to lend) is (Yuqri9' يقرض) so as an example (The bank lends the investors the money) in Arabic is (يقرض البنك المستثمرين المال).
Notice the word is (yuqri9') in the present tense and is (aqra9'a) for the past tense. Dont confuse this with (Yaqru9') which means (to gnaw or bite) and its past tense is (qara9'a). -
