Also في حين was completely ignored.

Further some explanation of the arabic syntax would help in the instances where they drastically differ from the English.

For clarification does translations make sense?

في حين قررت النيابة ... "Meanwhile the prosecution decide to..."

My main question revolves around في حين
I assume it is meant to be a transitional type of time phrase such as "meanwhile, while, or at the same time". Thank you for any input.

tomest05 , the best translation for (في حين) is (while) however in some contexts it can be used as (meanwhile).
If you use (في ذلك الحين) then the phrase becomes more of (meanwhile) or even (in the meantime).
We shall cover more of those phrases in our lessons in the near future.
