A few notes for anyone who might be interested: (1) Ironically Harrisburg, not Philadelphia, is actually the capitol of the state of Pennsylvania; (2) Pennsylvania is a state of the United States, but in formal correspondence it calls itself a "Commonwealth"; (3) for a couple of periods Philadelphia was the capitol of the United States; (4) Philadelphia is well known for a sandwich called a "cheese-steak" (thin slab of beef-steak with fatty white cheese melted together on a sub roll); (5) Philadelphia's slogan is "The City of Brotherly Love." I would enjoy reading anyone's attempt to render any of these concepts in Arabic.

Question:
In this lesson the verb "you will go" is "sa-ta-D'-Ha-B". Would it also be correct to say "sa-ta-D'-Hu-Bu"?

I am asking because I am trying to translate a children's song for my son where they sing "we are going home" but I'm not sure how build that verb. "sa-na-D'-Hu-Bu ila al-bait" is my best guess at the moment.

Correction! Actually, in the song the meaning is "It is now time to go home." How would one say that?

هو الوقت للذهاب الى البيت؟

Argentum, sanad'habu is the proper classical way of saying sanad'hab, it's just the last short vowel (u ٌ ) is pronounced properly.
As for your sentence (It is now time to go home.) best way of saying it is:
حان الآن وقت الذهاب الى البيت
This is how we say it in Arabic, it is more of (the time is due now to go home).

How would you say "I used to be called John" ? Or would you not translate literally and say "they use to call me"?

Right, this will be very new to many of you, but in such situation the passive verb (Yud3aa يدعى) is best to be used. This verb Yud3aa means (it/he is called), so (القاتل يدعى سمير) means (the killer is called Samir).
Now, the sentence (I used to be called John) is simply (Kuntu ud3aa joon كنت أدعى جون).
