Brothers Ehab and Muhammad! you two are the best teachers i ever had. Will that be fine if i tell you the situations where i had to explain something to my arab friends but i couldn't (its because they don't know enough English) i hope its going to help every body else too.

Thank you brother Moshaya for quick responce. I was thinking i need to wait for weeks..
Here is little story.
One of my friends (from syria) asked me a few days ago that if know any good dentist here because he had problem in his tooth. I was trying to make him understand that if he went to see a doctor in his private clinic its going to be expensive and not economical for a student but if he is ready to be treated in a civil hospital run by government its going to cost him only for medicines and the treatment will be free. He asked me if i can help him in this I said yes my pleasure, i will take appointment for him from a good doctor and will take him with me. Later on in hospital doctor asked him that if he feel pain continously or pain starts when he take something cold or hot or spicy. He said usually when he takes cold drinks. Doctor took x-ray and told that his tooth need filling as there is a cavity. later he treated him and his problem was solved... But i really had a big problem to explain all this in my broken arabic. I believe dear brothers Ehab and Moshaya will make an audio about this sitiuation so that in case if any body got problem in his teeth in some arab country they will not be in trouble for very long..

Although I am a dentist in the Philippines,I have been working for two years as a dental assistant in Saudi Arabia, because of the fact that we Filipinos cannot speak Arabic.But we do have the chance to work as dentists if we learn the language.In time, we are able to communicate with the patients by using what we have learned from our fellow Filipinos...the broken Arabic.
I feel blessed and truly grateful I found your website, for I have been searching for a way to learn the language,and hopefully be able to work as a dentist.Books and tapes are good, but incomparable to you guys. You both are simply THE BEST!

Great lesson. I know you covered يمين ويسار but I remember hearing شمال (or some form of it, it was a long time ago) used for left as well.

You are right azeem2000, the word (Shimaal - شِمال) means (left) as well.

If I remember correctly (it's been almost 20 years since language school), the words are similar because of the locations of Mecca and Medina. That's what I was told.

i cant get access to the scripts
