Lower Intermediate - Too tired to go out

Everyone comes across a time when they don't feel like doing anything or going out. This might be because they'd rather have a lazy day in and rest or just because they can't be bothered!. The guy in today's dialogue has two reasons for not wanting to go downtown with his friend. If you need to give a good and 'believable' excuse for not wanting to do something then listen to today's lesson.

Very useful lesson! In the last sentence, the word "أطلع", is that the first person's form of طلع? In other words, does it mean "I go out"? By extension, to say "I don't have the mood to eat", should I say "ما لي نفس اكل"?

Yes, it is the first person's form. In present tense, the first person's form starts with (أ), so a verb like (went ذهب) will be (I go أذهب).
Notice that the verb (ate أكل) already starts with (أ), so the first person's present tense form will be (آكل) where (آ) is equivalent to double (أ).

So you always use the verb and never the verbal noun مصدر?
مثل:
ما لي نفس السباحة
I don't feel like swimming.
ليس صح؟

Well, you need to add either (في) or (بـ) before the (مصدر) so the sentence becomes:
مالي نفس بالسباحة or مالي نفس في السباحة
