Lower Intermediate - Cooking program
Cooking programs are frequent scenes on Arabic TV. Arabic cuisine shares a wide variety of delicious meals from starters such as hummus, to main meals such as lamb and rice cooked in an underground oven. We go through a monologue teaching us how to make one of Egypt's famous dishes.
(1) Since “salsa” is used both in Spanish and in Italian, it’s hard to decide which language ﺻﻠﺻﺔ was borrowed from.
(2) There are at least two Arabic words for “cooking pot”. I was wondering whether ﻮﻋﺎﺀ could be replaced by ﻗﺪﺮ in this context.
