Beginner - Keep the change

Have you ever tried to buy something with money in notes and have been told that there wasn't enough change? Well, this has happened to most of us and in today's lesson you will learn plenty of useful vocabulary based on this scenario.

    Isn't another valid way to say "keep the change": "إحتفظ بالباقي"

    hi lads - how do you say : I do not have "enough" change - this is what is written in english but has been translated in " I do not have change" which is another concept . The shop owner might have replied in the former case : "well , give me what you have" in reply of the "not enough"

    ما عندي فكّة كافية
    or
    ما عندي صرف كافي

    You may use
    ليس لديّ
    instead of
    ما عندي

    Another way to say the same thing -
    لا توجد معي فكّة كافية
    لا يوجد معي صرف كافي

    I'd like to try and make an Arabic sentence:
    لا توجد معهم رجال فقراء فكة كافية
    You'll find poor people don't have change.

    Its root is - خ ل و

    You may see my comment about the same, in the Beginner lesson - I don't smoke (28 June 2011).

    The masculine form of this imperative in MSA is خَلِّ - khalli

    But in colloquial, خَلِّي - khallee - is used for BOTH masculine AND feminine!
