Beginner - How to say
An essential question that every Arabic learner should know is how to ask the meanings, or translations, of words and sentences. Simply put, this is what you're going to be learning in today's podcast.
@Sinbad, below can be possible answers to the question you posted
1. معنى كلمة أسد لايون بالانجليزي - Meaning of the word Asad is lion in English. 2. لايون بالانجليزي - Lion in English. 3. كلمة أسد معناه لايون بالانجليزي - The word Asas has the meaning lion in English. |

@Moshaya
Regarding your Answer 3 to Sinbad, is it معناه or معناها |
@vinod, it should be معناها and not معناه. My bad... There should be a feminine pronoun referring to the feminine word كلمة. This is a tricky one, since أسد is masculine.

And what about the word
ألحساب ؟ Does it mean the same as ألفاتورة؟ and how will it be more correct ? |
Well, the word (al7isaab) could be used as (fatoorah), so you could be in a restaurant and you just say (al7isaab law sama7t - The bill please). However, really (al7isaab) means (the counting), so you are saying (can I have the count of what I ate?)!
Hope you got the meaning and where it is derived now. |
it does help.
